Rosanna was born on September 30, 1956. She had an older brother Mark, who only lived for a few days. Then in July 1958, her sister Linda was born.
Her parents lived in Englewood and her father worked for AT&T, and her mother was a Nurse.
Rosanna did a lot of things while in school. She was in band along with taking ballet classes away from school. She worked at Cinderella City at a fast-food place and enjoyed helping others.
She and I never dated in High School, but one day while in 8th grade. She came home from school and told her mom that she knew who it was that she would end up marrying. And then she said it would be …
Dwain Boaz. (I didn’t find that out until many years later). With her and I living just 3 doors down from each other by South Fox and W. Mansfield. We were good friends from 7th grade through high school.
In July 1975 I went into the Navy and when I was able to come home on leave, I would always stop by and see her. Then a few years later, for the Christmas Holiday of 1977, Rosanna flew out to the San Diego area where I was stationed onboard a ship there. She stayed at my older brother and sister-n-laws place for Christmas.
On a Moon lit Christmas Eve evening, I took Rosanna out to a nice moon lit beach and asked her to marry me. A few days later we came back to Englewood for the remainer part of the Christmas Holiday timeframe. We then let her parents know of the engagement.
On May 21st, 1978, she and I were married.
We were blessed with a son Joushua Walter Boaz, and then 6-1/2 years later a daughter Jennifer Elaine Boaz.
Joshua has never married, but Jennifer married James (Jimmy) Yarmon. They waited a couple of years then started having kids of their own. Rosanna was able to see “”8”” of Jimmy and Jennifer’s kids brought into this world. But with Rosanna passing on February 28th, 2020. She never saw the next two kids, nor will she see Jimmy and Jennifer’s 11th child that is due in late March or early April of 2025.
Rosanna worked in the health care area and enjoyed her work. But once she retired, she loved being a
Grandma and living right next door to Jimmy and Jennifer’s home here in Englewood. She was able to see them on a daily timeframe. You could see in the smile on her face, just how much she really loves those grandbabies.
(Someone told me that quite a few people were talking about Rosanna and I at the 30th High School Reunion. And how we had been married and divorced a few different times.)
It is true, we did marry and were divorced 4 different times. I will say this, I loved her then and still do. I miss her, and wish we had more time together. We never were able to keep outside influences away from letting us live our life together as we wanted it to be.
When you get older, and people ask you if you have any regrets in life. That will be the biggest one of my life. If I had stayed in the Navy, I feel that we would have had a much better chance of having a longer marriage without any divorces along the way.
I still remember seeing Rosanna there in the hallways at Englewood High School, she had a smile that would light up the darkest room. I don’t think I ever heard her say anything bad about anyone.
She was loved deeply by her family, her grandkids and me. She will never be forgotten but will be loved missed for the rest of our lives.

Very well said Ron. I only my kids ew him from 7th grade on. He was what you said and more. If neede, he would give e you the shirt off of his own back. He has been missed by many.
