Betty and I got to know each other in high school and as an adult, she was one of my closest friends and the only person from my childhood I stayed in contact with. Betty lived life with great love and conviction, with a steadfast, quiet demeanor. Her love altered and enhanced my life. Her essence remains with me and I deeply miss her physical presence.
